I want to make coasters out of the little square pieces of tile, but i cannot find a sealer that is heat resistant. I recently tried Triple Thick, but no luck, hot coffee cup stuck to coaster after a few minutes.
2 part urethane, craft epoxy(you can brush this on without making it look like thick nasty plastic with practice and thinning).
I recommend 2 part Urethane, but good old varnish should work too...just let it cure for a week prior to use, and use like 3 coats.
If you mean for hot drinks also enamels can hold up, but in my professional finisher opinion...2 part urethane is best. It's what they put on automobiles.
I understand this may be above the average crafters ability, so I said varnish...try for a good marine/boat varnish. Downside to varnish is will usually discolor or yellow with more coats and over time becomes more yellow.
